Ikhlas is the in-house magazine of The Datai Langkawi. It covers a wide range of topics across its editorial sections, offering insights into life, history and the rich culture of Malaysia. Each issue highlights in-house as well as local talent in such sections as Creative Minds, Our People, Wellness, and In The Kitchen. In the Travel section, we focus on Malaysia’s popular destinations but also the hidden travel gems, from Penang, to Mount Kinabalu, to the best diving spots, and the historic Peranakan culture.
The magazine also includes sections covering design and architecture, artisanal crafts and style, community work and environmental sustainability with a special highlight on the people, partners and initiatives under The Datai Pledge - all of which tap into the DNA of The Datai Langkawi.
In our 10th edition of Ikhlas, we showcase our collaboration with our partner for The Datai Pledge, The Kanshalife Project, take you through the wonders of North Borneo’s wilderness, tell the story of a tree thought extinct yet rediscovered in our bay, and more.
In this special 2-part collector’s edition, we invite readers to journey through our rich history, remarkable people, and the natural wonders of Langkawi.
